A few weeks ago, I was thinking about the description I gave of myself in my profile, and found a continuing thought running through my mind. "What am I? I am a beauty hunter!"
A beauty hunter.
I shied away from using the phrase thinking it may seem a little ..forced..proud..vain..or something. But it kept coming at me and though I agreed with it and understood what it meant to me, I felt inadequate to explain it to others. So I omitted it.
And tonight, as I slowly read through Ann's post, I found it coming at me again. In words that do it justice. Graceful words.. as all Ann's are! If you have not visited Holy Experience yet, please do. I really encourage you to sit quietly for a while and drink in the Holy Spirit's unction on this gentle daughter of God. You will find Him speaking to you and drawing you closer to the Father's heart:
"I'm made the unlikely seeker, the happy gatherer... one always looking...
I need to look, seek, find beauty to fill emptiness.
For this is the hunt that feeds the soul hungry, Beauty Himself broken and passed around to us in a thousand daily ways...
Can't we all be this: a motley tribe of beauty hunters and all our trophies be praise?
I would like to learn."
Amen. I am hunting Beauty with Ann..won't you join us?
Gathering more flowers of gratitude ..I give thanks to the Father for
71. the sunshine and blue skies of spring
72. the return of the little wren families-so faithfully coming back to our garden each year
73. pure white petals on my pear tree
74. a bee who arrived just as I snapped a photo today, and buried itself inside the sweet whiteness - another 'happy gatherer' of beauty
75. youngest son gladly cleaning out his room so that oldest son may sleep in his bed when he returns to visit soon
76. hope.. that tomorrow will offer good news for my brother having an angiogram
77. trust.. that no matter what the day brings, His Presence will perfume it's every moment
78. joy..because I know where Beauty is hiding.
79. eyes to see the trail His footprints are leaving
80. courage to walk the unknown path leading me on to His hiding place

Can you see the bee? blessings...Trish
I love your gifts! Thank you for sharing. They invite me to greater gratitudes :)
ReplyDeleteI also love that we are in opposite hemispheres... it is a reminder that we often are in different 'seasons' but the journey is the same - - seeking Him, glorifying Him no matter when or where :}
His blessings Southern/Eastern hemisphere beauty hunter!
