Beautiful Lord

Oh Lord, You're beautiful,
Your face is all I see,
For when Your eyes are on this child
Your grace abounds to me.

I want to take Your word and shine it all around,
But first help me to just live it Lord.
And when I'm doing well, help me to never seek a crown.
For my reward is giving glory to You.

Oh Lord, please light the fire
That once burned bright and clear.
Replace the lamp of my first love,
That burns with holy fear.

I have been thinking more about being a beauty hunter today, and I've decided to begin a regular posting for Sundays which honours something beautiful about the Lord. A scripture..song..thought..picture..flower..experience..whatever I find that speaks to me of His beauty.
Something that has blessed me very much this week, is the Keith Green song above. Since Monday it has been echoing through my mind like a familiar friend come to lift my spirit. It's an old favourite that we have loved and sung in our family for many years now. Memories of church meetings and home groups, warmed by sweet fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ will always be connected with this song for me. Memories of deep times of grace and worship together with tears of joy..of repentance..of seeking His face.
I close my eyes.. and hear my worship-leading husband softly playing his guitar, while the voices of dear friends and congregations of the past serenade my soul once again, with these wonderful words. Words of longing for renewal and humility. Of longing for the face of God..to see His beauty..to be rekindled and enflamed by the holy fire of the Spirit of Christ.. to burn vibrant with His praises! Isn't that what we all need - our heart's deepest desire - to be so close to God that we burn with His glory like the face of Moses.
Dear friends I humbly pray that this week, we all find special moments of abounding grace bursting in on our daily-ness. Surprising moments, showing us that His beautiful eyes are truly.. always.. on His beloved child!
Many blessings..Trish

  1. Trish,

This sounds like a lovely idea. I have also thought about doing Sunday topics that are related to being thankful, and/or finding beauty in the Lord. I will need to give it more thought and prayer . . .

Also, thank you for sharing this song with us. It was beautiful, and touched me in many ways.

Have a blessed day dear friend.

  2. Lady Rose, it's wonderful that we have both been drawn to this idea. May the Lord be glorified by our desires! If you decide to write something I know it will be very edifying to us all.
I pray you are having a wonderful day too m'Lady :-)
