Simple Pleasures

I'd like to be a teabag,
And stay at home all day-
And talk to other teabags
In a teabag sort of way...

I'd love to be a teabag;
And lie in a little box-
And never have to wash my face
Or change my dirty socks...

I'd like to be a teabag,
An Earl Grey one perhaps,
And doze all day and lie around
With Earl Grey kind of chaps.

I wouldn't have to do a thing,
No homework, jobs or chores-
Comfy in my caddy
Of teabags and their snores.

I wouldn't have to do exams
I needn't tidy rooms,
Or sweep the floor or feed the cat
Or wash up all the spoons.

I wouldn't have to do a thing,
A life of bliss-you see...
Except that once in all my life
I'd make a cup of tea !

As a tea drinker, I love this cute little poem by Peter Dixon about the pleasures of being a teabag :-)
And though I do enjoy Earl Grey tea very much, these Cinnamon teabags are perfect for a chilly day! They have a lovely Christmassy aroma which is so pleasing and comforting and helps to cosy up my mood and get me dreaming of the festive season to come.
Hope you are all having a relaxing and very blessed day ..Trish

  1. Trish, this is such a fun post, and a great simple pleasure. I only recently learned from a bloggy friend across the pond (as we call it) how to brew the perfect cup of tea. It made all the difference and I now enjoy tea time so much.

  2. Aw Trish, this is a gorgeous little poem! At first I thought you wrote it until I saw the credit. I really enjoyed it...

Not sure if I would like to be a teabag though... what happens after you have your 5 minutes of fame dangling in boiling hot water? Eeeekk!! lol!

  3. I too am fond of herbal tea, mint medley is my favorite and I need to try cinnamon. It sounds so yummy on a cold morning. I'll add the thought from Eleanor Roosevelt, "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she's in hot water!" Just a little something to think about when you take your next warm sip.

  4. That is a cute poem. But I'm not sure I would want to be dunked in hot water! :) I can smell the cinnamon tea now. Nice! Have a terrific day. Tammy

  8. Smiling!! I thought until the end that you had written it yourself. That's the cutest little poem, and this is definitely tea drinking weather around here right now.

Me? I like a little chai.

  12. I enjoyed your new header with all the china. Oh how I love china and tea. My favorite right now is mint tea. Made from mint I dried from my garden. You asked if I had taken the picture of the moon on my site. Yes I did.

  17. From one tea drinker to another, that was a great poem. The cinnamon sounds great, never seen it in the shops though. I mostly drink Jasmine tea, but occasionally I like to try something different.

I have a recipe for a cake where you soak tea bags in hot water and add to the cake (barra brith) - the cinnamon tea bags would be good.
