The weather is very pleasant for working on outdoor projects at the moment, and my clever husband has spent the last 4 days transforming part of our side fence from this..
to THIS!! He was inspired by a lovely old garden we visited recently in an historic village, so out came the work tools and timber from the shed, and soon the smell of sawdust and sounds of drilling and hammering were filling the air :-)
Bags of soil and mulch and transplanted cuttings of old shrubs are the start of a new garden bed soon to be filled with colour and bees.
How thankful I am for him . I just love to see him creating places of beauty for us to enjoy together!
My simple pleasure for this week.. is helping my Beloved build an arbor for the Banksia Rose bush to climb over; so we can spend many hours of peaceful reflection in the fresh air under the dappled shade and gentle perfume of his handiwork!
blessings..Trish

ReplyDeleteThat's amazing. Hooray for talented husbands. I was struck by the fact that you weather is getting warmer AND you are getting ready for Christmas -- just the opposite of us. I wonder how that would feel for me, being in Australia, at Christmas-time!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteYour new arbor is lovely...what a nice place to sit and ponder. Very cleaver husband. I have an old Lady Banks rose that completely covers a arbor in my garden, in the early spring when it blooms it is a beautiful sight. I know you will enjoy yours. And, thank you for visiting me and leaving such a nice message.(-:
That is a very beautiful arbor. I too am blessed to have a husband who actually enjoys creating such things for me. I see it as a chore, he sees it as a pleasure. We are blessed. Thank you for sharing this and thank you for stopping by my little corner. It takes me a bit to wrap my mind around your Christmas being in the summer. I love how the internet allows us to erase the miles. Blessings!
