Our mantle decorations change religiously,
reflecting different seasons of the year.
The rhythm brings a warm familiarity
as much loved objects once again appear,
to mark the turning time with sweet simplicity.
They surely give us Simple Pleasures here!

Trish, you've done it again. Love, LOVE this, especially as one who isn't too fond of change, in general. You've helped me remember there is a good side to it ... and it reminds me that I really have to get my mantle de-Christmased. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Trish...Oh yes, it is that time and your post is a lovely reminder !!
ReplyDeleteI have packed away the Christmas decorations, but yet to do the cleaning I would like before doing some replacement. Would like to do something new as now everything looks very bare!!
What a wondeful blessing it is to know the Saviour, and not pack away the Christ of Christmas like many do!!
I love the last picture, feel so calm and welcoming!!!
ReplyDeletePs I like the new blog look!
Love your mantle changes! :o) Each of them still carrying peacefulness along with their "time" of being. :o)
ReplyDeleteChange is such a good thing to be thankful for without it everything would always be the same.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so peaceful!
ReplyDeleteIsn't joyful to just go through the changes of the season...without any stress, but just enjoy it completely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely mantle dear friend...the soft glow of the candles adds the perfect touch!
Maria
Your mantel is peaceful and lovely in both "seasons". You are so right about that feeling of familiarity in that type of change. I find such great pleasure in it too.
ReplyDeleteYour simple pleasure is one to love ..the candle light one is so warm and cozy looking
ReplyDeleteRhythm and familiarity, both make us feel comfortable and at home. A lovely simple pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of changing things out so regularly. I just redid my mantle, too, and love how moving a few things around can give the space a totally new feel.
ReplyDeleteHi Trish,Love your mantlepiece.I have to admit that I don't change with the seasons.I tend to focus on Christmas all rear round and just go from a few special christmas pieces left out all year to whole-house over-the-top decorating.I've always said that CHRISTmas is a way of life not just a season.I'm a bit OCD about it.AAAWWWW well thats just the way I am.
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Barb
Hi, Trish, I like this post. There is a rhythm to the seasons, which also signifies change. God does it in our lives, too, with each different season He brings!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Christine
Love all of your mantel changes. Beautifully said,
ReplyDelete"The rhythm brings a warm familiarity"
There is a rhythm to all of His creation. To everything there is a season.
You have captured a really nice homey feeling with you new mantel arrangement.
ReplyDeleteChange is good!
This is so beautiful Trish. It gave me pleasure to look at your photos.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Joan
How pretty, Trish. I've never had a fireplace mantle, but yours is nice :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings dear friend and thanks for your prayers,
Mrs. Q
How lovely to make changes depending the season or event. I love mirrors in a room and always like them over fire places (not that I have a fire place but always wanted one!!)
ReplyDeleteI need you to come to my house and decorate my mantel. Pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a great way to express yourself. Great and nice changes....
