Hearts For Home

"I enjoy doing housework, ironing, washing, cooking, dishwashing. Whenever I get one of those questionaires and they ask what is your profession, I always put down housewife. It's an admirable profession, why apologize for it. You aren't stupid because you're a housewife. When you're stirring the jam you can read Shakespeare."  Tasha Tudor
Well..it's time to check in with Gae for Hearts for Home again, and I must say I am feeling a bit like dear Tasha Tudor in this photo.
Both hands full and a bit 'in the woods' lol!!
The kitchen is almost back to normal and looking so much nicer with the new paint job.
And I have to concentrate now, on the other rooms we'll be using for our VIPs ;-)
My family have decided to arrive a week earlier than first planned and I am going like the clappers to get everything ready for their visit.
Very challenging - but fun!
My present focus is on setting up the bedrooms for our guests - a very pleasant chore indeed :-)
It's amazing how a room can get a bit out of control though.
I hadn't realised just how cluttered the 2 spare rooms had become while we worked on the kitchen!
So now I'm arranging furniture in there and hanging fresh curtains and pictures, placing flowers on the tables and making sure the lamps are suitable for bedtime reading etc.
I love to re-arrange furniture and create a nice room for our visitors to relax in and feel comfy and welcome.
It's the part I enjoy the most after the hard work is done, a new look is such a nice reward for all the effort.
Oh..I'm getting so excited now.
Even the flowers I planted this weekend seem to know they are meant for a very special purpose.
Next week my house will be full of family - I can hardly wait lol!!

My goals for the coming week are:
1. clean bedrooms
2. arrangethe beds
4. change curtains
5. clean the carpet
6. enjoy the tasks at hand and not get too stressed
Dear friends, I hope you are having a great week caring for your homes and families too!
blessings in Christ..Trish

  1. I had ladies over for afternoon tea on Saturday and ran around the house making sure it was clean and tidy + picked some flowers for the table. it is so rewarding when you have finished. Your home will glow by the time you completed - do enjoy your visitors and I look forward to hearing all about the visit.

  3. Dear Trish,
You know I adore that Tasha Tudor quote don't you?
I know how perfect I like to create a welcoming space for our guests and I am sure you want to show them much love and attention.
Try not to put too much stress on your self, They will be more happy with your very self than anyting else.
Glad to hear your kitchen is coming to order too.
Have a wonderful time preparing for your dear family
    Much love and blessings

  5. Trisha, it is wonderful being a housewife. I just got my husband his breakfast before work, as I do everyday. It was a egg, strawberries, yogurt and an English muffin with coffee. It was simple but showed him I love him. Before reading your post today, I had a thought that it's my honor to serve and love the ones under this roof and how much I am at peace with being at home, being a wife and a homeschool mom, it's such a privilege to love others and care for them just as you are with your home. I hope you enjoy the process and feel blessed when your visitors come.

  7. Accepting and being content while doing these tasks is really where we need to be as wives and mothers.

At this time, I am done taking care of my little one...just got on the bus. Now, to sit and have my breakfast. This is how my days begin and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

    Blessings dear one,

    M.

  8. Oh Trish I love those pics too ! You know the story I love about Tasha is the one when she bought her land . The first thing she did was walk in and plant hundreds of bulbs ! Before she ever built a building on it so that in spring there would be flowers ! Does that not just speak to the type of person she was ☺
Our ds21 is returning home after being away for almost 3 yrs ! we've not seen him for close to 2 yrs . I can hardly wait ☺
    Thanks for sharing Trish
