On a day like today..
I like to head to this corner of my kitchen..
grab a nice warm cuppa and an interesting book...
giving thanks with Dayle for life's Simple Pleasures
My home is my haven and I love decorating it in an eclectic mix of cottage and primitive styles. I enjoy gardening and dabbling in painting, doll-making and needlework. My good husband is the patient genius who builds wooden projects for me to paint and play with. My life is pretty simple, quiet and happy. I hope you enjoy your visit to "Angel Wings & Apron Strings."
Sounds lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I do in the morning...enjoy the quiet with my breakfast and devotionals right at our kitchen table, just me and God. Sigh...is it morning yet? :)
ReplyDeleteDear Trish,
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful. I love your spot and would love to join you for a Cappachino.
How much rain are you getting. Funny I almost did a rain post too with all we have.
Blessings

Rainy days are my favorite! (Actually, snowy days are my VERY favorite, but we don't get many of those down here in Georgia.) I curl up in my Handsome's cozy chair next to the porch window and open it and listen to the rain drops and drink a hot Ovaltine while I read. We're kindred spirits in this sense, I think! :-)
ReplyDeleteIdeal for a rainy day. Here we have sunshine, so it is very cheering!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true...yesterday while it was snowing here in the mountains all I did was read and sew :-)
ReplyDeletePerfect!
M.
You know how I feel about tea. :o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, peaceful post...a perfect way to spend some quiet time on a rainy day.
Hi Trish...It is wonderful that you have that comfort that way, but for me I get somewhat restless...I am like the child who wants to go out to play and can't because it is raining...lol!!
ReplyDeleteI do like listen to the silence and peacefulness of it!
Blessing.. Grace!!
Oh, me, too! It's warm and sunny here, but I'm sure I could turn on the shower and pretend to hear the raindrops while I sip my tea. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely post ...sounds so good I am going to get me another cup of Coffee !!! :0)
ReplyDeleteI agree...we need the rain so I haven't been enjoying it yet this season, but I do look forward to the smell and sound of gentle rain.
ReplyDeleteOh Trish, your kind words always warm my heart . You are so special. I love rainy days also.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so wonderful right now. We get enough rainy days around here even in the summer months that this sort of simple pleasure is a truly perfect idea. I love getting to see glimpses of your beautiful home. [o=
ReplyDeleteBlessings and ((HUGS))<><

This is one of my favorite simple pleasures as well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, beautiful post -- and such a good reminder to just enjoy the quiet (although for me that usually has to wait till our 7 are in bed :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this good reminder!!
There is nothing like a good book on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteLove this!
Blessings,
Joan
Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteTea is my favourite drink. My motto is "Don't stress... put the kettle on."
Works every time! Actually the kettle rarely gets cold at my place. Not that I stress that much these days - I just like tea.
God bless

We used to live in Oregon. I miss the gentle rain!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind comments on my blog. :)
Ah ... Trish, you've made me want to join you. What a lovely setting and a true simple pleasure. I just love the occasional rainy day.
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me too. Peace and quiet and a good book, all combined make the best simple pleasure I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteTrish,
ReplyDeleteI do this sometimes too with a hot cup of cocoa. :)

ReplyDeleteMe too - I love doing just as you have described.
ReplyDeleteHot chocolate in winter and tea in summer.
