I like to head to this corner of my kitchen..
grab a nice warm cuppa and an interesting book...
and just enjoy the quiet.

  1. That is exactly what I do in the morning...enjoy the quiet with my breakfast and devotionals right at our kitchen table, just me and God. Sigh...is it morning yet? :)

  2. Dear Trish,
Simply beautiful. I love your spot and would love to join you for a Cappachino.
How much rain are you getting. Funny I almost did a rain post too with all we have.

  3. Rainy days are my favorite! (Actually, snowy days are my VERY favorite, but we don't get many of those down here in Georgia.) I curl up in my Handsome's cozy chair next to the porch window and open it and listen to the rain drops and drink a hot Ovaltine while I read. We're kindred spirits in this sense, I think! :-)

  5. This is so true...yesterday while it was snowing here in the mountains all I did was read and sew :-)

  7. Hi Trish...It is wonderful that you have that comfort that way, but for me I get somewhat restless...I am like the child who wants to go out to play and can't because it is raining...lol!!
I do like listen to the silence and peacefulness of it!
    Blessing.. Grace!!

  8. Oh, me, too! It's warm and sunny here, but I'm sure I could turn on the shower and pretend to hear the raindrops while I sip my tea. :)

  10. I agree...we need the rain so I haven't been enjoying it yet this season, but I do look forward to the smell and sound of gentle rain.

  12. That sounds so wonderful right now. We get enough rainy days around here even in the summer months that this sort of simple pleasure is a truly perfect idea. I love getting to see glimpses of your beautiful home. [o=

  14. What a sweet, beautiful post -- and such a good reminder to just enjoy the quiet (although for me that usually has to wait till our 7 are in bed :)

    Thanks for this good reminder!!

  16. Hi Trish,
Tea is my favourite drink. My motto is "Don't stress... put the kettle on."
Works every time! Actually the kettle rarely gets cold at my place. Not that I stress that much these days - I just like tea.
    God bless

  21. Me too - I love doing just as you have described.

Hot chocolate in winter and tea in summer.
