Who's that peeping through my window?!!
He's there every morning lately.
Picking delicacies from the glass and screen.
Delighting me with his beauty and agility!
One of the highlights of my day is watching the blue wren families darting about our house and garden.
The speed at which they scrurry up the windows, fluffy wings a-flapping madly and tiny feet dancing on the glass, always makes me smile and feel cheery!
Not the easiest bird to photograph - they always seem to be full of activity and busy-ness.
My Simple Pleasure to share over at Dayle's today..

One of my passions is wild birds. Wrens have the sweetest songs.
ReplyDeleteBut never heard of Blue Wren.
Thanks for sparking my curiosity.
They are wonderful, aren't they!! We have little chickadees that come to our windowsills, chirping so sweetly, little feet tapping away. Have a great day! Tammy PS love your blue glass bottles too :)
ReplyDeleteHi Trish,
ReplyDeleteLove your blue bottles with the sun shining on them. The Blue Wrens are fantastic. They move so fast you were very lucky to get the photos you did. Well Done!!!!
God Bless

A noble effort capturing them on film, Trish. We have a number of bird houses in our front wildflower garden, but for the past two years only one inhabitant - a wren. David, our naturalist friend, was over and heard the wren singing. I told him of our other empty nests and he wasn't surprised. Apparently, as sweet as those little house wrens are, they don't like other birds as neighbors. They will slip into the other houses, and with their longer, thinner beak, poke holes in the eggs laid there, thus destroying happy house and home. So, that's why no other birds are living in our houses! Well, we'll enjoy the song, and the sparrows in the trees.
ReplyDeleteJoy!

What a beautiful garden you have. The sort I dream of! My cat was so excited the other day as she spotted (through the window) some finches playing in a shrub near by. She stood with her paws on the window seal just watching them. The birds were safe (as she was indoors) and she was happy to watch them play:)
