Simple Joys #3.. A Flower Barrow

Hello friends, welcome to week 3 of  Simple Joys!
Today I want to share with you the pleasure I'm getting from seeing these flowers in my backyard.

They are such a welcome sight and seem to be thriving in my old wheelbarrow!

My dear husband bought this large wooden barrow for me as a Christmas gift over 20 years ago.
It was simply overflowing then with the prettiest petunias I've ever seen!
I really love it to bits and each year I plant it with lots of cheery cottage blossoms to brighten my view - especially over dull winter days.

A precious reminder of that lovely day when my hubby led me outdoors with closed eyes to surprise me with the beauty of his gift; I keep it close to my back door where I can see it from inside and enjoy it all day long.

Thank You Lord for my thoughtful husband..
and an old wooden flower barrow that fills me daily with such Simple Joy!

  2. Hi Trish,

You are very blessed with such a wonderful husband, and he is also blessed by such a loving wife.

I love flowers!! I will actually do the gazing thing, and just get lost in their beauty. What a thoughtful gift from your husband, and constant reminder of how much he loves you.

    God bless you friend

  4. Hello Trish,
What a lovely suprise.....finding this blog is. I was going to leave you a message and I found this place.
I was going to tell you about the hellebore plants that you gave Gwen.
Gwen left me a plant and she cut the flowers off the plants she was taking home and put them in a vase for mum...and they are still blooming. Mum loves them and is hoping for some seeds from them.
So thank you from me, Mum and Gwen for the plants.
    Love

  7. Oh, the Simple Joy of seeing your springtime flowers in a wheelbarrow while I'm showing off some fall foliage in my North American climate! Spring seems such a far away thing to me now that all our front flowers are gone and the leaves are quickly descending, stripping the lush of summer away. So interesting to stay current with glimpses of your down under seasons!
    Joy!

  8. Oh Trish...what joy to see such color and such sunshine - I needed to see the sun shining in your side of the world. :D

Here in the mountains Autumn is in full swing - cloudy days, chilly winds and the sun is missing :(

    Love,

    Maria
