I love old white tinware!
It has such rustic charm
as well as practicality
and great decorative properties.
It sometimes even has "beauty spots"!
These pieces live in my old dresser alongside other vintage kitchenalia.
We had packed a lot of such items away a few months ago, because we wanted to experimented with a "minimalist" style decor in our home.
And while it was great to have less clutter in our surroundings..we discovered that we are not really suited to a bare, minimal decor at all!
So two boxes came back up from the garage this week and we selected a few familiar things to put in the dresser to bring a more cottage-y feel back to the house.
There's no way ALL our collection of "stuff" is being brought inside again...that would totally defeat the purpose of our last de-cluttering binge, lol!
So no! - most will either be sold or go to charity.
But I'm rather pleased to have at least a few favourite items around again..especially as they are not just decorative but are still very functional!
Do you like white tinware too?

ReplyDeleteWhat lovely treasures! I wish I owned some white tinware, but alas, I do not. So, I get to admire yours from afar. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, yes I do like it, especially the age spots :) I don't think I will ever be able to de clutter. Every time I try, it all comes out the next day,so why bother, its what we are really. Cottagey is very homely.Love your little display.

This is so pretty. I understand the decluttering thing and believe that if you look at it and it makes you smile, it needs a place in your home. Common sense+decluttering= homey to me anyway. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteHI Trish...Oh I do love the white, but my favorite is the blue splatter tin wear!!
ReplyDeleteI love you collection, and my favorite is the kettle with the spot missing..love the style with all the handles..nice!!
Sometimes it is hard to part with our "DUST COLLECTOR'S"..lol ; }

Hi Trish! Glad you stopped by! I wanted to link in with you at Simply Sweet but didn't see the Mr. Linky. It says you are linking, but I don't know how to do it. What's up?
ReplyDeleteHope you are well there as you change seasons, too. We are loving springtime's arrival! Guess you'll be heading into fall!
Joy!

Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteYour white ware looks lovely in your Kitchenalia cupboard. I like kitchen memorabilia ... it has a charm all it's own.
God Bless

Thank you for your sweet comment Trish. No we don't usually get snow here in SA.

I love the white tinware, Trish, I really like the way you have displayed them. I also had a big smile, about packing your treasures away and then bringing them back out. I have done this so many times, and have finally come to the conclusion that I am not one to live in a bare minimal home, ~smile~I enjoy vintage treasures especially if they came from a loved one.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed my visit today, always a joy to visit.
Hugs,
Sue
