Heart & Home link-up

Such Joy

I have found such joy in simple things;
A plain, clean room, a nut-brown loaf of bread,
A cup of milk, a kettle as it sings,
The shelter of a roof above my head.
And in a leaf-laced square along the floor,
Where yellow sunlight glimmers through the door.

I have found such joy in things that fill
My quiet days: a curtain's blowing grace,
A potted plant upon my windowsill,
A rose, fresh-cut and placed within a vase;
A table cleared, a lamp beside a chair,
And books I long have loved beside me there.

Oh, I have found such joys I wish I might
Tell every woman who goes seeking far
For some elusive, feverish delight,
That very close to home the great joys are:
The elemental things--old as the race,
Yet never, through the ages, commonplace.

Hello friends,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are feeling refreshed
as we go into another week of caring for our homes and loved ones!

I have been doing some "house-cleaning" and "de-cluttering" on my blogs over the past few days;
resulting in a combined space for most of the separate 'theme' blogs that had become too difficult to manage.
When I started blogging 2 years ago I was thrilled with my one little corner of the blogworld to play in,
but then I came across so many other blogs that were "themed" it made me think my one space was too narrow, and that I needed to create different blogs for different types of readers.

In the end, I became so scattered in my approach to blogging that I was losing the joy and inspiration for it.
I fretted that I wasn't producing anything appealing for others to read or look at and this made me regard my blogs as tyranical masters who were never satisfied with my feeble efforts!
Dumb, huh?!!

So.. I am pulling all my stray wanderings together and consolidating my energy back here at what I am now calling Trish's Heart & Home.
That's the main thing I want to share with you all - my heart and home!
I just want to chat with my friends about the little things that give me joy,
and not feel pressured (by myself or others) to produce a "professional" looking blog that puts me in a crowd-pleasing bind.
I am a simple woman..and I'm happy to have a simple blog that I am free to play around with and use to say Hi! to whoever stumbles across it.
So to whoever is reading this right now..
Hi, friend!
I'm glad to see you and I hope you're having a really good day :-)
blessings..Trish xx

  3. Amazing how Our Lord puts like minded ladies together to lift each other up and learn from each other.

As you know, I have opened spaces and deleted them, because I felt like you did, that my mind had to be broadened. But it resulted in a mish mash of thoughts that had no cohesiveness.

Now, one is enough for me :)

Much love to you dear friend...

  5. I got on the computer this morning with the decision to have just one blog and to just write about what I love. Before I started, I checked my favourite blogs and what are you talking about...the very same thing!

I guess we've both concluded we need to keep things simple. Thanks for helping me realize it's the right decision.

    Hugs,
    Sandra

  7. Hello Trish,
I used to work on three blogs. Actually I still have all three but one is Christmas so it is dormant until the holidays approach. Another one I am not sharing at the moment for different reasons.
Your blog is beautiful and it's always nice to visit with you. Love the poem you shared. Have a lovely day, dear friend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  9. Hello my dearest friend, You always have such interesting things to say and such a beautiful way of saying things too.
I am glad you are consolidating because I hate to miss anything you might have to say and finding things mostly in one spot will make everything easier to follow.
Hope you are coping well with this cold weather we are having.
    Lots of love and hugs
    Nell

  14. Helo Trish, I'm a fairly new blogger and I only have about 56 followers now, and I just recently have been having feed back. I started my blog to share my life with others and looking for kindred spirits to chat with. I also had a friend who kept worrying about comments etc. and I told her that she needed to be patient I guess I didn't have any either...But most of all my blog was a place to write and express me and relieve myself..so I have shared my real life bad and good. so I agree with you...simple and honest not worrying about whether your living up to everyone else's standards...It's just Gods standards that we need to worry about...wishing you a most lovely afternoon..with love Janice.

  16. Dear Trish, Love your blog and the new name!
I first started blogging in 2005 and it was nothing like it is today with all the backgrounds and extras that are available. I pulled away from the blogworld for awhile because I thought mine just wasn't up to par. Like you, I know that's silly.

I have that little poem taped to our icebox ~ one of my favorites.

  17. I can TOTALLY understand! I have only been able to have one blog of all trades. I feel TOO scattered and disjointed. You know it is like a person. We have many personalities and we don't try to make a different person for each trait. It is a one package deal so that is why I have one blog. You get to see all the different facets of who Mary is. 18. Good morning Trish, I Thought I had read and commented on this post, I apologize for the oversight, as I did so enjoy reading it because I related so much, however though I always enjoyed reading your other blog too. So dear friend I wish you the most success in all that you do, and what ever you decide. I am planning to publish a new blog sometime in the future, I just haven't had time to even blog on my first blog. ~smile~ Blogging is one of the most rewarding things I have done and I have so enjoyed getting to meet other women like you who love God and want to serve, Him by loving and serving their family, and others.
You have been an inspiration to me in this way.
    Blessings to you,
    Hugs,
    Sue
