Spring has come to my house!
Last night my sweet husband gave me a lovely bunch of pink roses
which he'd bought for me on his way home from work.
I really appreciate his endearing ways and even after 37 years together,
I never fail to be surprised by these wonderful little tokens of his love.
So this morning I went out into the garden to pick some bright daffodils
and fragrant jonquils to compliment his very thoughtful gift.
My well-worn kitchen table sighed a contented happy sigh
to have such pretty blooms adorning her again!
to have such pretty blooms adorning her again!
When afternoon tea time came I chose a rose patterned vintage cup and saucer,
which is called Royal Vale and was made by Ridgeway Potteries in England.
Being in a Spring frame of mind, I decided against cake or biscuits
and settled for some fresh strawberries and figs with dried apricots,
and a delicious cup of Rose tea with French Vanilla .
It was all very refreshing - and very fragrant!!
I'm so glad our long days of Winter are ending at last,
and lighter, brighter days are dawning once again.
As much as I enjoy living in a climate which has four distinct seasons,
each year I wish Spring would linger on a little longer!
It is my favourite time of the year.
People and nature have a keener enthusiasm for life
and display so much more hope and cheer in this beautiful season.
It's one of God's lovliest gifts to us all!
"As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." Genesis 8:22
are all very welcome.

Ah, Springtime; my favourite season! I envy you your months of bright sunshine and warm temperatures! We will be going into Autumn soon which to me is just a reminder that Winter follows so I'm not looking forward to it. We have such harsh winters here.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, on the bright side, your blooms are gorgeous and a thougthful gift from your hubby.
A pretty teacup and a lovely snack of fruit; just lovely!
Thank you, my friend, for joining me for tea today. Hope your week is a delight in every way!
Blessings,
Sandi

Your dear R is a sweetie.. I think I will have to get him to talk to my N.. N said I needed to buy myself a bunch of flowers a couple of weeks ago, but it's not quite the same as being given them by your sweetie.. he also bought a rose yesterday..but alas I am sure he bought it for himself to plant in the garden..sigh..
ReplyDeleteI love your spring house/flower pics I thought you must have painted again as your house looks so bright and inviting. I am looking forward to spring too, then maybe I won't miss my heater or indoor plumbing so much :)
love you my dearest friend.
