The "baker" arrived on Saturday morning with a surprise delivery!
One which necessitated a quickly assembled morning tea table.
Have you ever had a traditional German chocolate cake made by a classically trained cake and pastry cook (who just happens to be your hubby's dear friend)?
Let me tell you, friends..it is RICH and dense..and totally delicious!
What a sweet surprise..a very thoughtful "thank you" gift for helping the Baker out with the building of his pizza oven a few days previous.
And just the right thing to fortify a husband before he ventures back outdoors to finish his Saturday morning chores :-)
Hello dear Trish! First of all, your blog looks like a beautiful ray of sunshine, so cheerful and sweet :) Secondly, how delighted I was to read your kind comment - it's always a joy hearing from you, lovely lady! I must apologize for being absent from visiting...you see, my husband and I are in the process of moving into a new home so I have not had a lot of time to visit my dear friends. I hope you are well and looking forward to Christmas :)

Snow at this time of year?! That's strange, for sure. Keep warm :-)

MMM,how lovely Trish and what a thoughtful gift. It's always nicer when received through the mail too. I love the header on your blog. xx
ReplyDeleteSo dark and chocolaty [is that spelt right], I do love a good chocolate cake.
ReplyDeleteMerle....
I totally agree with Merle! Oh dear, I just realized the closest I'll ever get to such a cake is this post unless I go to the kitchen and bake...again...but then we are speaking of chocolate delights...See you later!
ReplyDeleteHello Trish... that cake looks so wonderful... makes me feel so welcome after being absent for so long... being a 'thank you' present makes it so special...
