I spy with my little eye..a Tasha Tudor treasure

What a lovely surprise I had last week when I was out shopping with my dearest friend.
While we were browsing through a local charity shop I spied this treasure on the bookshelves!

I was so thrilled and couldn't wait to get home and start reading!
I'm having the happiest time leafing slowly through this wonderful book.
It is filled with the most delightful photos of Tasha Tudor's home and beautiful garden and the tidbits of her story, told in her own words, are so interesting.

I've always admired her for having the courage to go against the tide and live her life just as she wanted...set back in a more gentle era and centered on home and family.
She was a unique  and artistic soul and wove herself a world of wonder and beauty through her gardening and illustrated children's books.

The book is divided by the seasons and is a visual feast for the eyes with plenty of images relating to her New England life. Not a particularly easy one, being based on the typical ways and lifestyle of the early 1800's ..but a very satisfying one for her. I'm quite sure I'll be posting more fascinating glimpses into the private world of this very intriguing and inspiring lady!
