This is Esmerelda...a cloth doll I made as a tribute to my first sponsor child with World Vision
She was a small 5 year old from Peru with golden skin and dark eyes and lips.
I sadly lost her after the World Vision representative in her area was killed by rebels.
Esmerelda would be in her late 20's now...this is my whimsical version of how I imagine her to be.
I have been trying some sculpting lately. This head is still drying out and I hope when it is finished it will look something like and Izannah Walker doll head.
Hoping for too much probably...but we'll see what happens!
This lady is Miss Polly...a polymer clay doll that I am working on at the moment.
It is challenging..messy...and I don't have a clue what I'm doing, lol!
But..it's fun playing around with new mediums and seeing what happens.
It's not always easy to predict what the outcome will be with these experiments but that's part of the process of learning something new.
What have you all been playing with lately?
They look pretty good not so easy to do.

Thanks Merle...you're right, sculpting a doll was challenging for sure..but I enjoyed it immensely! xx
DeleteLove your Esmerelda doll! She's lovely. I have never tried polymer clay. I like paperclay, and have always wanted to try the polymer. I think you are doing fantastic - beautiful sculpting!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend! It is fun learning about a new medium..lots of mistakes happened but it was great too! xox
