Pink Saturday

Do you love all things pretty and pink? I do :-)
I have accumulated a lot of pink things over the last few years, and have come to realise just how much I love that colour!
Perhaps, it's because I live in a mainly male household that I've tended toward collecting so many feminine, pastel pink items to decorate my bedroom and sitting room.
My menfolk are very good about it - in fact they quite like pale pinks too!
Mind you..as my family and friends will readily tell you.. I also LOVE the impact of dramatic strong colours!
But when I want to indulge my womanly sensibilities, I choose to be surrounded by the sweetness of creams and pinks.
I think it's soft and peaceful ambience makes one feel calm and gentle.
From curtains to tablecloths, plates to cakes, skirts to blouses - pink is always lovely!Delicate floral patterned teacups and saucers are my favourite collectables. And I particuarly like winsome pictures and miniture victorian ladies shoes.
Perfect rosey gems to brighten any room!

To enjoy beautiful, feminine pictures from kindred spirits who love the colour pink, visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound, for her *Pink Saturday* blog-party.

This week she asks us to share a favourite holiday movie. A difficult task!
But one I dearly love is "A Child's Christmas in Wales" with it's lyrical story penned long ago by Dylan Thomas, and the movie set in a snowy Welsh town of the victorian era.
A sweet old-fashioned tale of a little welsh boy's adventures on Christmas Day.

  1. Trish,

I also live in a household that is mostly men...it is only my daughter and I. Even our pets are male :)

So my attraction to pink and pastel colors is just as strong.

I am surrounded by crochet lace, teacups, roses, toile...and it just goes on and on :)

    Thank you for sharing,

    M.

  4. I used to dislike pink, until I became surrounded by little girls and through Christ realized I needed to embrace my femininity! Now I love pinks and purples, though I do not have things as pretty as you. They would get broken pretty quickly around here!

  8. Trish,

I would have never known that you were a "pink girl." :)

I tend towards darker shades of pink like rose, lavender, and mauve. Our Master Bathroom is in shades of pinks and purples, very girly indeed. :) My hubby The Talent doesn't mind, for he gets his "manly bathroom," which consists of greens, and browns. :)

By the way, I like your new blog layout. It's very pretty. Also, I noticed that you have become brave by showing us a full picture of yourself. Why aren't you smiling? :)

    Blessings,

    -Lady Rose
