Dear friends, have you ever found yourself in a bit of a homekeeping slump?
I certainly have!
Perhaps it's the duller days affecting me or the worrying news of Japan's tragedy but..this week I'm finding it mentally harder to get my general housework done.
Especially while our kitchen is still disordered - but I know I can't give in to these feelings!
I must do all I can to finish working on the kitchen cupboards with my dear hardworking hubby.
It is so worth the effort -they are looking wonderful!
And I need to prepare two bedrooms for the upcoming visit from my family - yay!.
Praise the Lord, our wood arrived on the weekend, and we are now ready for these cooler days of Autumn.
Which is a good thing as every afternoon has been turning cold and grey and bringing thunderstorms for the past week.
I love rain...but I really don't love lightening :-(
It makes me nervous and agitated.
Nevertheless, things must be done regardless of the weather or my mental lethargy, so hopefully I'll be able to just 'keep calm and carry on' with what I need to do!
Time to take myself in hand, methinks !!lol!
I hope you are all having a great week as you care for your lovely homes and families :-)
I'm sure you are also holding Japan in your hearts and prayers - may the Lord have mercy on them and protect them (and us) from any further danger!!
Blessed be God forever!
grace & peace..Trish

Dear Trish,
ReplyDeleteWay to go, working through those feelings! Having family coming is always a good motivation to get things done, isn't it?
I hope you are staying dry.
Love,
Marqueta
Praying for you dear! I got into a slump as well so I just ended up going and started organizing my whole house...lol :o) Still working on it...hope your kitchen gets back to normal soon dear one! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteIt seems strange to hear you talk abou tcoming into autumn now.....we are just welcoming Spring! I think that one sometimes feels that slump as the days get dshorter and darker.
ReplyDeleteOh Trish...I know exactly what this feels.
ReplyDeleteThe mental lethargy is the hardest to undo, but once we have...we come back with a great amount of energy.
Dear friend, you have a wonderful incentive - your dear family is on their way to you...and knowing you, through your words, I know that you will do everything you can to make them comfortable and cozy in your cottage...
Peace dear friend, allow the peace of Our Lord to keep you in a state of rejoicing, even when the outside events show otherwise...His Peace is in you - embrace it!
M.
We have just been through all of that over here. the end of Feb. is such a tough month because it feels as if the winter will never end. We are just coming into spring and will have renewed energy. I will try to send some your way.
ReplyDeleteDear Trish,
ReplyDeleteI do know how you feel with this. I know especially when we were building that this would creep in quite often. The focus is on the busyness.
Praying for a renewed spirit for you this week
Blessings
Gae
I am right with you on this, just washed the sheets yesterday, it has been too long. Everything is dusty from winter and the wood stove. Yes we must go on, God give us the strength we need today we pray.
ReplyDeletePraying God gives you the strenght to do what you need to do:)
ReplyDeleteHi Trish..Do I ever smell what you are stepping in...I have been trying to motivate myself all winter ..so much to do!!
ReplyDeleteLiving alone you can get very slack about things...hard because I used to be a neat freak, and I don't like this side of me...I need a balance!
Days I get going and things flow and then the next day gone!!
Thanks for this post !!
I also have been feeling the same way.
ReplyDeleteI think I have spring fever.....
Spring fever kinda side-tracks me, which isn't good since I only have this week before we get back to home schooling. Having visitors is a great motivation. I hope you find your balance as you also redo your kitchen.
