The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you.
Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Dear Trish,

Once again your header is lovely. Do you know the artist?

Hi Trish.. You so inspire me when I come to visit.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the quote from Stevenson, it so true!!
Your layout of your blog is always so comforting like coming home!!
This morning on my daughter Renee's blog she quoted a line from a song, from a Little Golden book that I used to read to her when she was a child called the "Churkendoose" it says "it depends on how you look at things"it depends on how you look at things"!!
Quite far fetched from Stevenson, but very profound!!
They story is about being different, and being made fun off. It is a cute story if your not familiar with it it is worth looking up!!
Have a Blessed week ..with love Grace
Trish,
ReplyDeleteThis is truly what life is all about - plain common work! This is simply a beautiful quote filled with much wisdom.
