L.A.C.E. ~ Tea at Victoria House

Lady Lily-Rose smiled as she tied the satin ribbons on her new pink bonnet

and fetched her favourite parasol from where it stood beside the door.

She carefully checked her appearance in the hallstand mirror, and once satisfied all was in order, quietly closed the front door behind her and hurried on her way to keep the day's appointment.

Walking briskly along tree-lined avenues, at last she arrived at Victoria House where Lady April and Lady May warmly welcomed her with "do come in, dear friend - it's so lovely to see you!"
Sitting her down to hot tea and cucumber sandwiches, the gracious sisters merrily chatted away as usual; making her feel quite at home in the grand old "painted lady", which had been home to two generations before them.

The lace covered table gleamed with the warm glow of their mother's silver tea service, and all declared the elegant jam and cream sponge cake to be 'light as air' and the most delightful they had ever tasted!

After their pleasant repast a light stroll around the garden was suggested and the three friends wandered lazily amongst pink peonies hanging heavy in the sun.
All too quickly it seemed..the time came to bring their lovely afternoon tea to an end, and everyone most heartily agreed "we must do this again real soon!"

On her return home, Lady Lily-Rose uttered a quiet prayer of thanks for a wonderful day spent in the company of her kind and gentle friends...and prayed sweet blessings upon all such worthy souls!

  1. Trish,

I liked this little story you told using your lady figurine. It was most creative, indeed!

Humm . . . it's only Tuesday (at least in my part of the world). Have you changed your L..A.C.E. days to Tuesday's now?

    Blessings,

  7. Trish,

Sorry I am late with my L.A.C.E. post. I don't normally post on Tuesdays, so I didn't have a post ready to go.

  15. Hi Trish,
I am trying again to leave a comment on your post. What a week it's been with Blogger! Today, it's hit and miss with comments and I still cannot log in to my blog. Very frustrating!
Your tea cup is just so pretty and I thoroughly enjoyed your story. I really like your LACE idea. I, of course, can't participate at this time for the reasons I already told you about.
    Wishing you a lovely day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
