Hello friends, welcome to week 4 of Simple Joys!
Something very simple that continually brings joy to me each day is soap!
Ever since I was a very small girl I've had a love for gift-boxed soap.
Pretty packages of delicately perfumed soap have always appealed greatly to my feminine nature.
I love the look and smell of nice soap.
And I love the feel of a solid cake in my hands.
Now I don't know about you - but personally speaking, I don't care much for modern watery 'liquid soap'!
It seems to be everywhere and popular these days..
but it just doesn't satisfy me as much as a good solid cake does.
I prefer to scrub with the lather produced from a decent bar of soap anyday.
I feel like I've really washed up properly when I've held that weight and felt that form in my sudsy hands, lol!
We are so spoilt for choice when it comes to soap these days.
Something that was not so easily available in times past - and certainly not as pleasant as today's varieties.
Soap.. we use it everyday but do we really appreciate what a blessing it is?!
Thank You Lord,
for the daily joy a humble cake of soap brings!

I Trish! Mmmm! Soap is delightful - especially some of those crafter's soap so delicious smelling! But, sometimes, I love the artistic presentation of the soap so much, I don't want o use it!
ReplyDeleteFavorite soap from childhood - there was a brand that we used for us kids that had a little toy surprise at the center of it - encouraging us to use the soap in our bath! Good memories!
Joy!

I didn't realize that you had a new meme. I posted something for it, but I'm not sure if it quite "fits." Hope you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, soap is beautiful to use. Unfortunately for me, I am allergic to soap. When I use it, it makes me itch. Therefore, I have to resort to using liquid soap, which does not irritate my skin so much.
Still, I like the soaps are are carved into special shapes. Along time ago, I received a gift of soaps that were carved into the shapes of angels. They were SO cute! :)
Nice meme. :)
I agree with you about liquid soap/bodywash. Dove has a nice one but the others I find a bit harsh.

I love soap so much, I make my own! Just last week I made a batch of Calendula Garden Mint, Cinnamint, and Spicy Apple. It is nice to give as gifts...not too expensive and smells nice, too!
ReplyDeleteTrish, I love soap, too, especially the homemade-type. I have a dear friend who makes soap and sometimes sends me some. Every time I use her soap, I do my best to remember to pray for her.

I love soap also. Never can resist those pretty packaged soaps that you can buy at places like TJ Maxx. Just bought some lovely Yardley Winter Spice soap for the colder weather. It's an inexpensive treat.
ReplyDeleteDear Trish,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post to read this morning. I love bar soap. I used to use Pears when I was a teenager ~ it is very hard to find in my area nowadays. We make our own soap, but I have to admit I have a weakness for Crabtree and Evelyn's Rosewater Soap ~ sheer heaven!
