Simply Sweet~ time to give it your best

Friends, I have to admit something to you..
I have not been as diligent with my homemaking as I should be.
I have no real reason or excuse for it - I simply slipped into a lazier attitude lately!
Procrastination is threatening to become a habit - one that I do not want to encourage.
It's high time for me to get back on track and get my home running smoothly again.
I need to have a little pep talk with myself about a few key points that will help me re-focus!
Tell me..do you ever need to "talk" to yourself like this, too?

Dear Trish,
Whilst doing your housework, take your time to give each chore your full and best attention.

You will have far more satisfaction in your vocation of "homemaker" when you give your best efforts to each task at hand.

At the end of the day you may not have acheived all you had wished to...but what you did accomplish will have been done well.

It is better to complete one thing as best you can, rather than give a dozen others the fragmented moments of mere "starts"!

...to be continued  (I'm sure!)

  1. Hi Trish,
I am a GREAT starter of jobs, projects, gardening etc., but I get sidetracked easily and go off at (interesting)tangents--- and sometimes fail to finish what I started out to do.
I have actually written down a 'job's to finish' list.
    God Bless

  2. HI Trish...I know what you mean about the feeling it is to have a job well done ....but as the years have past and I am alone I tend to convince myself that who cares it is just me...but when i do it makes me feel good!!
I just have to make myself do things for me...as to always doing for everyone else that used to live in this house!
I also feel guilty to because I figure that God has giving me what I have and I should be a good steward of it!!
    Your not alone in this ; }

  3. It took almost 20years of being a house wife to finally learn this - finally! It is never to late to embrace something positive :)

    Have a peaceful day!

  4. Hi Trish,
I think we all get side-tracked from time to time. Having lived with a chronic illness for some time now, I am limited as to what I can do. So, when I do something now, I try to do my very best.
It has taken me a long time to learn that God loves me on my good days and my bad days.
He never changes, He's always the same.
I am so thankful He loves me no matter what and when I mess up, He very gently lets me know. Praise His name!

    Blessings,
    Sandi
