Simply Sweet~ grand tea-room

Don't these elegant stained glass windows make a beautiful entrance?!

They belong to the Carrington- a  grand hotel in the historic Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia.

We visited here recently and enjoyed a leisurely afternoon wandering through the lovely old building.

Down the vast corridors under high vaulted ceilings we sauntered,

and peered into stately rooms as we passed by on our way

to meet up with some old friends who were eager to show us

the wonderfully appointed tea-room,

where a very large and long table was set and waited for the delicious repast to come.

Everything in this historic hotel is on a grand scale - those gorgeous blue urns are as tall as me!!
(Excuse me if I look a little messy..I couldn't see in the mirror to fix my hair I'm afraid!)

We couldn't stay on for tea unfortunately, but here is pretty setting I found in a shop nearby.
We'll certainly return to the lovely Carrington Hotel and enjoy High Tea there one day!

  7. The entrance way alone would draw me to this tea room and then to see the inside! I hope you will return for tea and share it with us.

  8. I would love to see what they serve for tea there! What a beautiful place. I loved the entrance windows ( i make leaded
stained glass myself, but not on that scale) especially the sparing use of bright coloured glass against plentiful the transparent.
    Thanks for the tour!
    Blessings to you, Trish.
