A bright bunch of store bought flowers on the coffee table
some warm sunlight on my kitchen chair
and the crisp shadow of my washing hanging on the line...
These are the sort of things that make me a happy homemaker.
Simple ordinary things... that are also lovely!
I'm always on the lookout for these touches of beauty as I go about my daily chores.
The sound of birds singing in the bushes..
a butterfly suddenly appearing at the window..
the ever-changing play of sunlight streaming in and on the house.
These are so enchanting to me.
When I put my mind to it and purposely search it out,
I can always find a blessing contained in each new day.
Whether I feel good or bad, healthy or ill, rich or poor..
whether I believe it or not-
every single day has the gift of God's beauty in it.
When we decide to deliberately look for it -
it's often quite surprising to see how generously He embellishes our days.
If we learn to be content and find joy in the very simplest pleasures of daily life,
He will open our eyes to discover just how rich in grace these really are!
One may own a millionaire's mansion filled with gold and ornate furnishings..
and still be poor.
and still be poor.
But a heart content at home, however humble it may be..
has wealth you just can't buy!
has wealth you just can't buy!
"..godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Timothy 6:6
