Heart & Home link-up

Yesterday was my birthday!!

My wonderful family wanted to take me out to dinner, but I opted to stay home and keep warm by the fire (it's freezing here in Oz!).
So we had a very simple afternoon tea together and just relaxed and chatted away into the evening.

I chose to have a pavlova as my birthday "cake" and it was utterly delicious!
I am actually trying to be good and lose some weight at the moment - but how could I resist my favourite dessert on my special day, lol?!
I was so happy to have the family with me and we were all so comfortably gathered around the woodfire that come nightfall no-none wanted to go home, so my darling hubby went and bought us all KFC for dinner :-)

And to top it all off, as the sun prepared to set on what had been a grey drizzly day, it highlighted the trees with a brilliant fire-y glow and a glorious rainbow came to join the party!

My loving family around me... my favourite sweet... and the beauty of God at my window.
I simply couldn't have asked for a lovelier birthday!

  14. Happy Birthday, Trish! What a lovely day you DID have - and the sky show the Lord blessed you with - He was smiling His goodness upon you! I've linked in my tea post - which is also a recap of the women's conference I was at this weekend - seeking to keep our home priorities straight and be the wives and mothers - and daughters of the King - we are called to be! It was so grand!
    Joy!

Your cake is beautiful; it looks a lot like the one we made for Audrey's birthday yesterday! The rainbow was a sweet heavenly gift to be treasured.

KFC is just up my alley ...funny how childhood treats become staples of a retired life ..I love KFC( Ha ha)... and the crowning glory was that it was a family gathering... FABULOUS... Hugs

So glad you got a rainbow! Aren't they lovely? I always think rainbows are a special sign of God's Love...the way they just surprise you when least expected.
