I love this time of the year,
the milder temperatures are so much more agreeable to me.
And this week, I can see the foliage of the english trees are beginning to turn their vibrant Autumn hues.
This is an event I eagerly watch for as the seasons course their way along!
Our Virginia Creeper vine is shyly revealing her reddening robe and the Belladonna Lilies have sprung up their pink trumpet blossoms, straight and tall against the fence.
It's such a pleasure to be outdoors under the still-blue skies and feel the gentle breeze about my face as I hang the washing out and watch the clouds float by.
Soon enough, the cold days of Winter will descend with their sleet and snow, and we will coset ourselves in a cosy fireside chair and read and read!
But for now..the sun is kind and welcoming and I'm loving these in-between days :-)

My Hearts for Home goals this week are:
1. Help my husband repaint our kitchen walls and cupboards.
2. Iron and put back all the curtains I've removed and washed while rooms have been 're-done'.
3. Spend more time baking cakes and treats for my hard working man.
4. Try to regain the rhythm of my prayer life again !
Sadly, it has suffered somewhat while the house has been undergoing changes.
5. Begin to bring out our warmer clothes now that the days are cooling down.
6. Meditate s.l.o.w.l.y on the wonderful insights God has given Ann Voskamp.
And mindfully seek out the joy to be found in the "holy ordainary" moments of my day.
grace and joy..Trish
Joining lovely Gae, for her Tuesday home-loving meme Hearts for Home,
Dear Trish,
ReplyDeleteYou must have a beautiful garden that is wonderful for inspiration. I love the preparing for winter and food just seems to be part of this. I know your husband has been busy at home and was wondering about his recovery. Has sit gone well and is it all complete.
Busyness at any task seems to take our prayer time doesn't it. I pray you are able to get that back on track. Although it is helpful that I am not the only one who has this problem ☺
Enjoy getting your nest back in order too.
Blessings dear friend
Gae
BTW: I love the header image. I had it as my screen saver on my computerfor quite a few weeks. I find it very restful and meditative
I call those flowers Naked Ladies, not sure why!, you sound very busy, it's fun seeing a room trasformed after you have been busy working on it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post and such beautiful pictures! enjoy that fresh air my dear! We are just starting to tip into some spring like weather in my neck of the woods! :o) It's nice! :o)
ReplyDeleteMy dear Trish...your winter is approaching, and it is the perfect time to reflect and to take time to rest after all the redecorating you have been doing in your humble place.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your husband and yourself have been able to do this, without periods of illness of any kind...
Thank you for sharing your lovely pictures - what a glorious garden you must have been blessed with :)
In His Love,
Maria.
Oh lovely, you are approaching autumn as we are approaching spring, my down-under friend :)
ReplyDeleteI do love autumn, and I appreciate spring, but I dread the HOT summers we have here that will follow! I don't like the hot weather (you can only undress so much!), but I will try to enjoy the spring days and give thanks in all things that God has given us.
Love you friend,
Mrs. Q
Hi Trish ...I so enjoyed your post, your words bring such lifting of my being!!
ReplyDeleteThe blooms are beautiful, and as you turn to the winter season I look forward to spring!!
"Regaining a rhythm of my pray life again"...so where I am at!!
Thanks ♥
Dear ladies, thank you for your lovely comments, I'm so blessed by your friendship!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are all enjoying the seasonal changes in your neck of the woods.
It is funny to think how 'opposite' we are isn't it?!
Gae and Maria - I assure you, my garden is nothing grand at all!! I just try to make the most of the flowers when they do appear :-)
My hubby's hand is healing well but he has some nerve damage to his little finger and is still having physio on it. Thanks for asking after him, Gae!
Mrs Bee..Yes - I will take some photos of my little kitchen when it's done. It's a bit 'tired' and we want to paint the cabinetry to brighten it up :-)
love to all..Trish
Trish,
ReplyDeleteI see that you have changed the name of your blog. I like this name better. I think it suits your lovely personality. :)
At any rate, I enjoyed reading your thoughs about your simple, but carefree and wonderful life. It all sounded SO pleasant that it made me want to come-out your way for a visit to enjoy it personally. :)

Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteYour blog design looks so pretty. I love pictures of the pink blossoms, that shade of pink is one of my favorite.
God bless you, and your list of goals for this week :o)
