Simple Pleasures ~ an old chair

A beloved sun-warmed chair awaits me in the late afternoon light.
We have been meeting like this for many years..this old friend and I.
Both grown soft and a little worn by time, we embrace each other gently
as we settle comfortably down to read together.

Our simple pleasure and only present care ..which good book to choose on this cosy afternoon?!

    This sounds absolutely wonderful. And to choose which book would be a challenge indeed. I had to smile on the idea of you and the chair becoming soft with years. Yes, I have to say that describes me, lol.

    The chair looks like such a wonderful peaceful place to spend time with the Lord, and there is just something so special about the late afternoon light that shines through the windows with that warm glow. You captured it well in the photo.

    Oh I agree....mine was given to me by my mother-in-law on the birth of my sixth child..it has become my friend for reading and remembering holding my little one..Enjoy your chair and your reading.

    Ooooooh....now, I am aware of "One Thousand Gifts" and have yet to purchase it but that one behind it...."Fascinating Womanhood", I'll have to google that up.

    I don't have a comfy one like that. Yours reminds me of the one that my grandmother sat in for my entire life. When she passed away, we honestly didn't know what to do with it. It was just so special. We gave it to her pastor's wife, who, by all accounts created her own sitting spot.

    So, for multiple reasons, I loved your simple pleasure this morning.

    A soft, comfy chair, pillows and BOOKS! A true Simple Pleasure that you and I (and lots of others) share. I could so easily settle down in that sunny chair and read and sip tea! Love it!

    Sounds wonderful - nothing better than curling up in your favourite chair with a book and hot chocolate (in winter). Perhaps some gentle music in the background.
