A beloved sun-warmed chair awaits me in the late afternoon light.
We have been meeting like this for many years..this old friend and I.
Both grown soft and a little worn by time, we embrace each other gently
as we settle comfortably down to read together.
Our simple pleasure and only present care ..which good book to choose on this cosy afternoon?!
grace & joy..Trish

What a wonderful place to go and be refreshed in both spirit , mind and body. Lovely post Trish, thank you for sharing.

That is lovely, and somehow needful to have that place where you feel at home and content.
ReplyDeleteI have a spot like this at home too, I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds absolutely wonderful. And to choose which book would be a challenge indeed. I had to smile on the idea of you and the chair becoming soft with years. Yes, I have to say that describes me, lol.

Your word pictures are perfect. You described your pleasures with warmth and a cozy feeling.
ReplyDeleteHi Trish,
ReplyDeleteThe chair looks like such a wonderful peaceful place to spend time with the Lord, and there is just something so special about the late afternoon light that shines through the windows with that warm glow. You captured it well in the photo.
God bless you,
Michele
So lovely to have a comfy chair to curl up in.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting me, it is so nice to meet new friends.
Your chair looks so comfy especially with the sun shining on it. Enjoy your reading afternoon, sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree....mine was given to me by my mother-in-law on the birth of my sixth child..it has become my friend for reading and remembering holding my little one..Enjoy your chair and your reading.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh....now, I am aware of "One Thousand Gifts" and have yet to purchase it but that one behind it...."Fascinating Womanhood", I'll have to google that up.
ReplyDeleteYour chair is so inviting with the sun shining just right....mmmmmmmm ;)
Enjoy every moment spent there in that little retreat of warmth.
Sounds heavenly!

I don't have a comfy one like that. Yours reminds me of the one that my grandmother sat in for my entire life. When she passed away, we honestly didn't know what to do with it. It was just so special. We gave it to her pastor's wife, who, by all accounts created her own sitting spot.
ReplyDeleteSo, for multiple reasons, I loved your simple pleasure this morning.
what a great chair...really comfy and perfect for curling up with a good book.
ReplyDeleteSounds like heaven. Lovely photo, looks so cosy. Definitely a simple pleasure I can relate to, Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteA soft, comfy chair, pillows and BOOKS! A true Simple Pleasure that you and I (and lots of others) share. I could so easily settle down in that sunny chair and read and sip tea! Love it!

Your chair, books and your own words are all very inviting! Thank you so much for sharing this post and also your very encouraging comments to me!
ReplyDeleteJust had to laugh back...I didn't ask for help in robbing the bank...but I did have some readers volunteer...now wouldn't that be a Lucy and Ethel show?
ReplyDeleteThe comfortable places are the best...no matter the age!
ReplyDeleteHi Trish,
ReplyDeleteyour chair looks so inviting. You have created a little sancuary for yourself.Enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
God Bless

This looks a wonderful spot to sit. It exudes great comfort and tranquility. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh such a lovely spot to sit and read. I've just started one thousand gifts...it is making me take my time to read and process.
ReplyDeleteI have an old chair very much like yours. I love the way the sun hits your chair.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful - nothing better than curling up in your favourite chair with a book and hot chocolate (in winter). Perhaps some gentle music in the background.
ReplyDeleteTrish, you have a lovely way with words. And anything bathed in sunlight is a pure simple pleasure to me. A joy to have you join in the party this week.
