I love to watch the rays of evening tiptoe in
when shadows start to fall against the wall
and purple / grey reflections wash my windows
with their light.
I turn the golden lamp on shining words of prayer
and set my soul to seeking God and deeper things
as this day, hushed and quieted, slips forever and away
into the night.
All at rest.
All at peace.
He takes the burdens of today at last
and whispers that the morrow
will be bright !

Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed your Simple Pleasure post, such soothing and comforting words you have written.
I also enjoyed catching up on your previous post, Your pears look delicious, and the pear tree reminds me that ours will soon be blooming in a few months, and I am looking forward to seeing them once again.
I like your new blog design, and your new title.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, I am so much better, but am still recuperating.
Hugs,
Sue
Hi Trish,

Dear TRish,
ReplyDeleteI am a great lover of soft and gentle light.
I adore the dusk time of day and find it really invigorates as well as soothes me.
I find the same with candle and lanp light too.
I too have electric lamps that I prefer over all other lighting in our home.
The gentle glow of lmaps and the soul seeking from the light of The Word of God
Beautiful
Blessings

I totally agree...the light as it comes up in the morning and as it leaves at night...then the glow from our artificial lights...yes! a simple pleasure
ReplyDeleteOh dear Trish such a wonderful post! I love the evening light as well! There is a serenity in it! :o)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...spending this time pondering the day and what the Lord has done and what the will do during the beauty of last rays of light. To gather close to Him ...what a beautiful simple pleasure.

Trish,
ReplyDeleteThe pictures that you took matched your poetic words quite beautifully. I like the first picture. Is that a painting upon your wall?
-Lady Rose
When I read this, it reminded me of Anne Shirley saying, "Tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes in it..."
ReplyDeleteI found your blog from "a plain and simple life".
God's blessings,
Grace
So encouraging and beautiful!! Thank you.
ReplyDelete(By the way, are you the "Lily Rose" who always posts such nice things on my blog? I tried to see who it was, and it doesn't link back to a blog, but I thought with the name of your cottage, perhaps you are she? If so, you have a beautiful blog over here; if not, you still have a beautiful blog over here! :)
Thanks for your help. Sorry about making you check into things for me. I get frustrated with blogging sometimes: feel like I don't always know what I'm doing! Have a SUPER weekend!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a warming post, Trish. I loved it. And so fitting for Simple Pleasures.
