LACE~ Streams of Grace

"..it is not necessary for us to be like other people, if other people are not what they ought to be.
The prevalent standard of living ought not to satisfy us, if the prevalent standard is low.
No matter how corrupt the times, we should strive to live righteous and godly lives.
Nor is this impossible.
God is able and willing to give us all the grace we need to enable us to live a true and holy life in the most unfavouring circumstances;
... God makes no mistakes in planting people in this world.
He does not put any of us in a spiritual climate in which we cannot grow into beauty and strength; and wherever He plants us, He sends the streams of grace to refresh us
So, whatever our circumstances may be, it is possible for us to live a godly life.
The darker the night of sin about us, the clearer and steadier should be the light that streams from our life and conduct.
Any one should be able to live well in the midst of friendly influences and favouring circumstances; but it is doubly important that we be loyal and true to Christ when surrounded by those who care not for Him."
J.R. Miller (Come Ye Apart)

Welcome to LACE, dear friends!
I love the writings of J.R.Miller. There seems to be no end to the encouragement I find in his gems of wisdom, admonition and instruction for godly living!
Sometimes we can get very down when we see the way our society is going..away from Christ..and feel quite alone in this modern world.
But friends-we are never alone!
The Lord is always at our side, cheering us on in this race of the soul.
The prize He offers is so glorious that every effort to finish our course and grasp it will be worth all the sorrow, frustration and trials of this life!
If you are going through something hard right now, remember to keep your eyes on the Lord and put your trust in Him.
Just like small children place all their faith and confidence in their parent's goodwill for them..so we ought also to think of God in the same way.
His fatherly heart is always open to our cries and petitions.
He always anticipates our moves and stands ready to catch us at the slightest hint of a fall.
We all have troubles in this life, to be sure!
But none so dark or difficult that He cannot bring light and help our way.
The world is stumbling about in shadows and has lost sight of the Lord.
Our help and true joys will not be found in it's company.
There is a Friend far greater than the world Who we can rely upon to guide us on the right path through life.
His grace is our strength, and enables us to carry on when we get weary and troubled by the circumstances we may find ourselves in.
So let's put all our hope in Him and rest in His unfailing love, remembering that..
"..wherever He plants us, He sends the streams of grace to refresh us."

  2. I love the phrase "fatherly heart." My daddy would do anything for me and when I hurt he is crushed. The perfect example of what God's heart looks like.

Thank you for hosting this link party. I receive so much encouragement from everyone's post. What a beautiful family we have in this family of God!
