My festive decorating seems to be paring itself back this Christmas.
in fact, I"ve put out far less than in previous years.
Content with some whimsical objects that make me smile..
I just don't feel the need for much more than that right now.
You see, the best decoration I can imagine
and the one which will give me great joy..
is having my family and friends gathered around our hearth..
giving Him glory and praising our Saviour-King!

Dear friends,
May all your preparations simply be filled
with the joy of the Lord in this holy season!

Oh Trish, that is exactly what we are doing here at the cottage.
ReplyDeleteNot much in terms of decorations, but a great deal of JOY!

Hi Trish...I am so far behind on my commenting ....
ReplyDeleteI just love your background layout , love that era!!
I am trying to cut back to, but I am a creative person and love doing arranging decorations...it taking it down that gets the worst of me lol!!
Yes...we do get real crazy sometimes and the meaning is the last thing we should put aside ..the world does that so easily!! Jesus the reason for the season!!
Blessing and joy filled days for Christmas!!

Grace
I love your decorations!
ReplyDeleteI like your approach to decorating, especially with family and friends gathered around being the best part! It's like what Hebrews says about our apparel -- the best ornament is that of a meek and quiet spirit!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,
Laurie
I can definitely relate to your post. I find that putting out less almost makes me appreciate those Christmas decorations more. And it take so much less effort to put them all away! :)

Sweet, whimsical, warm, and inviting - what else would one expect from our Lily-Rose Cottage at Christmas! And, to have the family gathered about - perfections - you are right!

Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteI have also decorated a lot less this year than in years past, and to my surprise I really like it.
Thank you for sharing the pictures, it's fun to see how others decorate. I love how you said you will have great joy spending time with your family and celebrating the Jesus birth. Amen!
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas,
God bless you friend~
Michele
I like how you have decorated your home. It looks very cozy and inviting. You are right though, the best way to "decorate" our homes is to fill them with the love of family, friends, and let's not forget, our Dear Lord. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing your Christmas decorations! Wishing you a very Merry CHRISTmas, filled with JOY! Karen
