Preparing

I watched him from the window
pulling weeds
and turning soil.

Preparing..

Making room all afternoon
while the sun lit up the way.
He left it sitting quietly on the backsteps ..
said he found it hidden deep within the honeysuckle.

Ah.. that honeysuckle which cannot be contained
always reaching up to claim and overcome!

"If I prune it right back this time - it will let more light into the house",
he spoke it sure as he pushed hard into the vine-wrapped sky.

A wooden womb appeared
it's secret now laid bare-

Vine and earth together
once had brought forth Life!

And I saw within,
the hope of a mother
long ago
who had woven faith and dreams
to birth her Babe.

While the world was not expecting
not preparing...

He had come.
Hidden deep but lifted high-
her sweet Honeysuckle-Child!

holy experience

living in eucharisteo:
for dirt and twigs and hiddeness
expectation and preparation
waiting in the darkness
brand new life
a mother's love
promises kept
hope renewed
a husband's patient pruning
Fathers guiding light
for rain..and towels to soak the overflow
mild days in summer
crickets chirping in the black of night
phonecalls from friends
celebration plans
anticipation of being together again
singing of YeshuaSalvation is His Name!
