Who wants pizza?

Sunday was a good day for hubby to get stuck into rendering his home-made pizza oven.

The air was still and the sun was HOT..

so he had to work fast before the render dried out too much to adhere properly.

Slapping soft coloured cement onto a big beast like this is quite therapeutic!

And deeply satisfying when it's all done and dusted.
My DH has worked jolly hard to create this outdoor pizza oven for us.
We've already been using it and I can tell you it cooks not only our favourite pizza, bread or baked vegies - it also does a smoked leg of lamb to perfection!

Good job, honey..it not only looks great..it works!!

  6. How fun and exciting to be the proud owners of a pizza oven! It's a big one!Perfect for the coming summer :)
There's someone near our village who runs a course teaching how to make these, in 'cob' (mud and straw) ~ I've long wanted to go on it! She also plans and makes buildings including her own house!

Well done to your hubbie ~ what an original (and self sufficient!) thing to do.
