He's young, strong and energetic..
very musical and a good conversationalist.
He listens carefully to everything I say and never contradicts me.
He's good looking with a handsome profile and dark twinkling eyes
and bows respectfully when I pass by.
Meet my good companion and simple pleasure....Mr Pickles!
What a gorgeous bird!
ReplyDeleteHis coloring is what makes him so unique.
So how did he get his name?
Hi Christine!
ReplyDeleteWe were unsure if Pickles was a male or female when he was very young. He hadn't yet gone through the moltings that Cockatiels do when their colours and markings become defined as to their gender.
So we chose a "safe" name.
His head looked like he'd dipped it into a jar of mustard pickles to me, and his dad's name is Piccolo..so it just sorta happened like that :-)
Cockatiels are very social and love people and though he can get noisy at times..he's great fun to have around!
Blessings..Trish
What a lovely birdie friend to have...
ReplyDeleteI believe Cockatiels can be good talkers too.

Cute ....
ReplyDeleteTrish,
ReplyDeleteMr. Pickles is beautiful! I have always wanted a pet bird, however with three cats it would not be very practical. : ) Maybe someday.

p.s. Our stuffed rat is "Jewish" because the girls have been watching "Fiddler on the Roof". Now we've discovered that we have a REAL rat family living under our deck! Our silly Dachshund has been sharing his meals with them. :-0
LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYour "wise" fella is adorable.

He is a beautiful bird. When I was a child I had a pet parakeet (I think you call them budgies in Austrailia). His name was Corky and he brought me a lot of pleasure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Joan
What a beauty! I just love animals of all kinds. My friends just recently got me into birding. Plus, my grandmother loved birds so they are becoming more beautiful the older I get. Mr. Pickles looks like he would be quite fun to be around.
ReplyDeleteHello Trish,
ReplyDeleteMr. Pickles has stolen my heart. He is so handsome with beautiful markings. I love his little round eyes, so cute!!!!!
I love birds, they have personality, and like you said, are attentive.
Thanks for sharing the great photos, they made me smile.
Blessing to you,
Michele
So basically, Pickles the bird treats you like a queen. I could get used to that!!
ReplyDeleteThis is great. I thought at first it was going to be about the kind of pickles that you eat. Those are pretty pleasurable, too.
This is so cute. I thought it was going to be a post about how you made pickles lol! Pickles is quite the gentleman ;)
ReplyDeleteTrish,
ReplyDeleteWhat cute pictures! Mr. Pickles sounds like the perfect "gentlemen" to me. :)
