Hello friends, welcome to this week's LACE.
I hope you are all having a blessed week in God!
Tell me..do you ever get a song "stuck" in your head and hear it playing along as a background theme to everything you are doing and to whatever is happening around you?
Do you hear it softly lullaby-ing you to sleep and awakening you with each fresh morn?
Does it drive you 'crazy'.. or delight you with it's friendly visitations?
I have had the tune of the old TV series 'Peter Rabbit And Friends' running through my mind a lot lately.
I don't know if it's because the seasons are changing and the days are getting brighter, but I seem to find myself humming this pretty song as I go about my daily chores!
Music is such a powerful influence in our lives isn't it?
If we listen to positive words, and hear them wrapped in pleasing notes, they can affect our attitudes and mental state and produce feelings of joy, peace and well-being.
On a spiritual level..sacred songs are essential to the life and vitality of our soul.
Scripture verses and wise counsel can be learned easily and quickly when set to good music.
This can help to build us up, comfort us and confirm our faith in a special and unique way!
How often do sections of God's holy Word come to mind accompanied by the tune of a chorus or hymn, which we learned long ago?
Music and song is surely one of God's sweetest gifts to us!!
Though it's not 'spiritual' as such, this little ditty that is keeping me gentle company lately..
makes me feel so good I thought I'd share it with you :-)
Have a perfect day my friends!!
Perfect Day
Have a perfect day my friends!!
Perfect Day
The rain has moved on
And left a new day
Nothing seems to move everything is still
It's just a perfect day
The shadows and light
That move with the wind
Hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray
Just another perfect day
On the wild and misty hillside
Fear is nature's warning
Hunger here is never far away
And all of this world
Is for children who play
Days that never end
always should remain
Another perfect day..

It's just a perfect day
The shadows and light
That move with the wind
Hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray
Just another perfect day

ReplyDeleteHi Trish,
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this movie clip, and I love the purity of it, and the time period, and of course the famous Bunny "Peter Rabbit". This has brought back good memories, and thank you for that.
Very pretty song. I'm going to watch the clip again.
God bless you friend, and I wish you also
a "Perfect Day" :o)

HI Trish...I am sure that melody will play in my head all day ...so soothing and calming!
ReplyDeleteYour post usually bring me to a better place thanks my friend!!
Blessings Grace
Yes, music is just as important as the words themselves.
ReplyDeleteOur Lord knew that we needed them both! Thank you for sharing Trish.
Be blessed,
Maria
Thanks for hosting! Yes, I get songs stuck in my head all the time - love when it is a Psalm.

Dear Trish,
ReplyDeleteYes music is often a blessing for me. It can really improve my mood and help me focus better. I love it and often have it in my mind. I love this from Peter Rabbit and often get to still watch it with our little ones. I think we ahve watched this series for over 15 years and are on our second lot of DVD's with it.
Much love and blessings
Gae
Good morning Trish,
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie Miss Potter and it remains a favourite. The song from the video is so soothing and yet a wee bit haunting in its melody.
I have always loved stories from long ago when life seemed simpler and more innocent.
Hubby and I toured Green Gables while on vacation, I'm sure you're familiar with it. While strolling the woods, I could envision children dressed in their charming attire and running here and there, having fun. It was magical!
Thank you for a very pleasant LACE today which stirs up sweetness. Have a delightful day, my friend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Such a beautiful poem. Just love it. ~ jen
ReplyDeleteTrish! I MUST own this movie!!! I have been studying Beatrix all year in anticipation for my spring semester drama project at the school where I teach. I have a couple of films about her - but not this one! Lobe BBC drama! Will be looking it up on amazon today!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

Hi Trish! Just saw your comments - as I was linking again to you with this evening's Harvest post. Sorry - I'm hogging your link this week trying to make up for last week not being here.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't get a chance to read it, you can see the post I did on my son and grand baby - they have really been through it! How faithful the Lord has been to them in the storms! I wrote it for the Miracle Makeover weekend. Here's the link:

Joy to you!

Good morning Trish! This is my first visit to your blog, and I love the sentiment you captured in LACE.
ReplyDeleteI've linked my recipe for a Blueberry Cobbler, because I find it really gives me a lift (encouraging!) both when I eat it and when I just enjoy how beautiful it looks! It's one of those dishes that get me thinking how amazing the natural world is....
Thanks for hosting!

I am forever getting songs stuck in my head. Lately it's been the music from "Emma" ~
ReplyDeleteI love Beatrix Potter ~ I have a collection of her stories in little tiny books! I've never seen this show, it looks wonderful Beautiful music!
Blessings
It's amazing how music affects us. A tune from childhood can stay with us all our lives. I believe that's why some hymns have touched so many lives. The tune and words stay in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party with LACE this week but am happy to be able to join in.
Hope you're having a good week.
What a lovely little tune! The singer truly has a beautiful voice.
ReplyDeleteAs for getting songs are certain tunes stuck in my head - yes, this does happen to me from time to time. I don't mind if the song is pleasant, but if it's annoying, this can make me a bit nutty!
What a lovely, lovely song. But, oh dear, now I have just had to order a Miriam Stockley CD from amazon!
