Spring is only a week away for us here in Australia.
The garden, awakening after a winter doze
is throwing off snowy quilts and turning it's face
to welcome the warm rays of the sun again.
And today I am sitting with my back to winter's window,
happily inhaling green peppermint tea and golden jonquils.
Fruit on my plate...strawberries and banana bread!
This is simply a joy!
(Bananas had become a luxury for us after devastating floods wiped out the Australian crop.)
Yellow daffodils are keeping jolly company with waning helebores all snuggled in my old tin teapot
while the first soft pink camellias of the season lay beside them.
The year-long dance of these blossoms having turned full circle once again.

"In the tiny petal
of a tiny flower
that grew from a tiny pod
is the miracle and the mystery
of all creation and God!"

The cup and saucer I am using today is from a set I've had for a long time.
The brand is Orion and it is made in Germany.
A delicate small cup..just right for herbal tea!

I love it's bright floral pattern on the fine white china.
A sweet little garden blessed by the sun to cheer my day!
It reminds me of the faithfulness of God
Who promises to bring about each wonderful new season in it's time.
May it always be the hopeful season of Spring within our hearts, dear friends!

I'm joining Sandi today for Tea Time Tuesday

This looks lovely. Enjoy spring! This year I felt like the spring flew by and I didn't really enjoy it like I wanted. The tea and bread look wonderful. Just a great reminder how much the Lord loves us.
ReplyDeleteWe are just slipping into autumn here in West Michigan:( Our summer has been wonderful, but it is never quite long enough for me! I AM thankful we get to experience all 4 seasons....
ReplyDeleteWarm Tea, Banana Bread, Sunlit table adorned with Spring's fragrant blooms, passages of Scripture, and thoughts of our amazing Creator make me wish I were sitting across the table from you. You have been such a blessing in my day, Trish!
ReplyDeleteDear Trish,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful tea cups! It's so fun to see jonquils in August; fall is in the air here in Missouri (even though it's supposed to be almost 100 degrees today and tomorrow.).
Love,
Marqueta
Your teacup is beautiful and the daffodils are so bright and cheerful. So refreshing to see since we are definately heading into autumn here.
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful and that bread looks delicious :) Everything says - Spring has finally arrived down under!

Hello Trish,
ReplyDeleteit is so amazing for me to read that spring is just over in your ara. We start fall now and spring is almost forgotten. You made a wonderful springy tea time. Love the flowers and the china. And banana bread sounds really tempting. Thank you for having me for tea.

PS - A surprise announcement on my blog. :)
Trish - What a lovely post. I am tempted to take some herbal tea this minute - just before bed. Sounds fine!
ReplyDeleteIt is so interesting that - as you are looking for spring in a week, I am looking to fall - I'll be pulling out all the autumn decor and giving the house a new do as we enter a new season.
And, you will see by my post that I am in a new season, too, having said goodbye to a passing season.
With many tears.
Joy!
Kathy
Good morning Trish,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! I love your pretty teacup, your sentiments and scripture. I envy you your Springtime just around the corner; my favourite time of year!
I am not a Fall and Winter person at all. Although there is beauty to be found in all seasons I'm thankful God's love never changes and is with us constantly. Thank you for a lovely tea.
Blessings,
Sandi
What a sweet post. I too, love spring..where i live in the US we have extremely cold, long winters...so spring greens and flowers are such a welcomed sight.

Madame Trish,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting with you for tea today. You are such a great hostess. That tea cup and saucer is simply beautiful! I really LOVE the bright delicate flowers on the cup. The yellow flowers were also bright and cheerful. I hope to get another invite from you again soon. :)
~Madame Wildflower :)
This is a sweet post and your vignettes are lovely. I live on the East coast of the US and we are winding down summer here. I am looking foward to the scents and colors of Fall. Enjoy your Spring! Your Daffodils are so happy. I love them and when mine pop up every Spring (sometimes under the snow), it makes me smile :)
