That God once loved a garden we learn in Holy writ.
And seeing gardens in the Spring I well can credit it.
Hubby and I have been very busy in our yard these past few weeks.
Our Aussie Springtime has brought abundant growth to many trees and plants and the garden is a very fragrant place to be right now!
Our fruit trees are looking promising this year - which is a blessing to see.
Praise the Lord - so far there is no sign of the pear and cherry slug which decimated them last season.
We have made some changes to the look and function of some areas, and are having fun with paint as you can see :-)
This is a view of the side of our garage and carport area which was very dull and dominated by an old buddlia tree that overshadowed everything.
We decided to remove it and open up the space around it for more vegie gardens.
It's made a big difference to this spot as the garage wall now receives more warm northern sun on it.
We went "mad" last Saturday and painted the wall and carport siding vivid white!!
It certainly looks a lot brighter out there now..so bright that we are thinking of toning the white down a little bit to a chalky cream.
We had a lovely full moon the other night and the white garage wall was lit up so much I could've read a book by the moonlight on it, lol!
It's been fun tinkering around the yard and making changes.
Next weekend we will work on planting out the vegie patch and herb boxes.
Spring is such a wonderful season for making things "new" again!
The year's at the spring
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hillside's dew-pearled;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
God's in His heaven -
All's right with the world!
Yes indeed..God is in His heaven..and so is a dear friend and brother in the Lord!
My closest friend's father passed away into glory after 3 years of being bedridden from severe strokes.
He was a wonderful dad and friend who loved the Lord with all his heart and it has been hard on the family to watch him suffering over these many months.
Now he is beholding the glorious face of Jesus whom he faithfully served here on earth and will lovingly adore with all the angels and saints forever!
There is much sadness..but there is rejoicing amidst the pain of separation, for we know it will not be too long before we are all together again singing praises to our most awesome holy God and King!
We are so privileged to have known him and loved him, worshipped with him, laughed with him and suffered with him.
Shortly before midnight last Sunday..Albert heard the voice of his beloved Bridegroom call his name and quietly slipped away to meet Him...
"My beloved spake, and said unto me,
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away."

I always enjoy reading your posts...they are a blessing and encouragement. I like the words Robert Browning penned - so true! I am sorry about your good friends dad, but like you said, he is now in a much better place with our precious Lord. sings. Thank you, friend, for your words of blessing. I hope you have a lovely day!

How I love Spring! Sring and Autumn are my favorites! Come Winter I become a armchair gardener ~ browsing through all the lovely seed catalogs and dreaming of what I will plant next!

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your friend's father.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing photos of your garden. Everything looks wonderful especially the white paint. It probably is much brighter than what the picture shows but it looks good to me. :o)
I'm so glad to join your linky this week. :o)
Hi Trish,
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about painting white in an area that gets full sun sometimes it's just too bright, I did my shed in a light yellow and most of it is in shade but the white was not right. The vegie garden is looking good and more room is always good.
Merle......
We are just hunkering down for winter, and you are enjoying spring. What a lovely and diverse world God has created.
ReplyDeleteSad for your friend's family on the loss of their father.Lines from a poem I read once said,"Oh God you are so kind, You knew I needed rest, You called me in my pain, and gently sent me death."
Have a lovely Sunday. Anita
Hello Trish,

Hi Trish - just popped in to say 'hi'. I'll be linking up soon for your linky party. I'm a regular at Sandi's Tea-time party. Lovely garden. It's almost winter here. Deb
ReplyDeleteI love how you referenced that last verse in relation to the passing of your dear friend. I've never thought of it in those terms but how wonderfully perfect and sweet for honoring the life of a loved one!
ReplyDeleteIt's neat to see you working in your yard and spiffing things up for a season of warm weather...while I, on the other side of the world, am getting ready to shut things up in anticipation of a cold winter!
Blessings to you and thanks for the opportunity to link up!
