Kitchen Sunbeams

Last of the afternoon sunlight came streaming through the window,
dancing in the steam of potatoes bubbling on the stove.

It's fleeting-sweeping trail lit up the gold of mandarin orbs

silently nestled in a waiting galaxy of tin and apple cheeks.
I turned from my whirring-stirring and suddenly saw it..
the Cosmos
come into my kitchen to sing me a Vespers song!

  4. Hi Trish,
I love the first-hand sunlight that comes in my bedroom window, and I especially love the second-hand (reflected off the windows of the block of units next door) sunlight that comes into my kitchen in the morning. It is a special gift because I live in a semi-detached house with no east facing windows.
I love the sunlight on your bowl of fruit and I'm sure sunlight mixing with the potato steam would improve the taste of the potatoes.

  6. Oh Trish....we have been without the radiance of the sun for so long here in the mountains. Rain is a blessing...but nothing can compare with the warmth of a summer sun.

    A true pleasure.

  9. Trish,
I love the sunlight that pours in through my kitchen windows in the morning it isn't as bright or hot as in the afternoons. I love the way the sunlight plays across the oranges and apples.

I like how the sunlight is creeping in every so quietly and softly into your kitchen. It truly makes a pleasant atmosphere. I can almost smell the potatoes cooking upon the stove. :)
