Wish it was nice and bright and sunny outdoors today..
but the sky is grey grey grey :-(
and the rain is c-c-cold!

Instead of weeding and transplanting my marigolds, it looks like I'll just have to rug up on the deck and watch the grass grow for a while.
I know, I know.. you feel sorry for me.. I have such a hard life these days, lol!
Nevermind..the maple and brazilian trumpet vine seem to be enjoying the shower :-)
And grey really makes the pink stand out on my lovely crepe myrtle tree!
It's a pity the blossoms are so short-lived, and all too soon fall to carpet the ground beneath with their soft and frilly petals.
But I won't let that dampen my spirit - there's too much beauty in all the phases of this tree's life-cycle to dwell on one..I want to fully enjoy each of them in turn.
After all, winter's bare trunk and barren branches are striking and wonderful, and without them we wouldn't have the pleasure of experiencing the gorgeous summer blooms in their season.
It's the same with each of us really...there's beauty in every stage of life and growth and we need to see and appreciate it in ourselves and in each other a whole lot more...don'tcha think ?
:-)
:-)
Funny how a grey day seems to make one contemplate things like that!
Your garden is looking lovely all the hard work was worth it.
ReplyDeleteHow old is your Crepe Myrtle Tree most of the ones around here are only small, I didn't know they grew so big, mine is only a couple of years old and about 6', I was hoping it would bulk out and not grow much taller.
Merle......
It does that Trish, but you know we have had a lovely day of rain yesterday and today a gorgeous sunny one. I am so enjoying being cool and watching the plants jump out of the ground with joy. They were really struggling with the heat wave We've had. x
ReplyDeleteOh Trish...what a beautiful garden you have created my friend! It is just glorious :) m.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is so pretty- it's nice to see the opposite season we're in- here the snow is covering everything! But spring is coming... And you are right- look for the beauty in every season!

It might be a grey day, but seeing the pictures, I only see colours.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to have so many blooming trees and plants.
I can't wait for Spring to arrive here ; )
Have a great day.
That is a large crepe myrtle! Well...that is why they make up sayings for us to memorize...like "april showers bring may flowers" (although it is not april!).
ReplyDeleteI guess we learn patience waiting for the sun. Your garden pics are so nice!
Your garden is so pretty and colorful. Enjoy the rain. We really need more around here.
