Simple Pleasures ~ Daisies

White and quiet!
I gaze at images of hushed and pristine snow falling on gardens of northern friends,
and feel a yearning for cooler days by our woodfire to return again soon.
But we are in the height of our summer season and I must find my joy in this moment..
this very warm and sunfilled moment He has given me right here..today.
It is not quiet.
Birds and cicadas sing loudly outside my window pane.
But I  do find  my own blanket of white..
mass planted daisies to share with you!
Won't you sit a while with me, on pleasant grass under shady trees and catch your breath?
What a marvellous beauty is His creation of seasons.
Changing
turning
twirling
seasons.
And how like God, to order the dance of diversity with such intricate steps of joy!
blessings..Trish

(Photos of daisies are from a local garden I visited 2 weeks ago.)

  2. I am looking forward to autumn as it cools down and the smell of winter is in the air. We are having humid weather at the moment, very unusual for Canberra. I find it very draining.

    What beautiful flowers.

  8. I have never seen anything quite like that first picture. It's so beautiful. I just have to direct my flower loving daughter to this link.

I also just loved the whole simple pleasure. Isn't it amazing how quickly we forget that while we're huddled in front of fires in this hemisphere, you are longing for some other white stuff in yours?

I think that little reminder IS my simple pleasure this morning.

  11. Trish,
I guess I don't have to say that daisys are one of my very favorite flowers? That first picture of the curling daisy is fascinating...love it! Thanks for coming by and commenting on my SP of our 200 year old church tree.
It will be Spring here in 37 more days...

  15. Trish:

As I sit here watching the snow fall, I find myself longing for warmer days and hearing the call of cicadas. However, I enjoy the moment - the beauty, the stillness, the peacefulness. Before long, our seasons will be reversed. I think of the scripture verse, "to everything there is a season."

    Blessings,
    Joan
